sabo's mini vacation: to the secret beach

a beach that had no name...none, that I know of.
almost private, maybe I'm the one trepassing but it's SO nice and peaceful...
'cept for those planes that fly super low...(does that give away my location? hahaha...)

my beautiful day started off at Amandine (http://www.amandinecafe.com/) with these DELICIOUS
kouign amann (WHAT ARE THEY? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kouign_amann).  If only you could
TASTE them...
Ignore the bite that I could not wait to take...  The apple filling was neither too sweet nor too tart,
it was JUST right...  (if I continue posting like this, I'll only give away my identiy...
a retired pastry chef who's always on the search for the next best dessert to satisfy the terrible sugar craving of mine).

coasting on...
sabo @ the beach
(do I spy SB1007 aubrey? it IS one of my personal favs)
'cept for the few ppl scattered about, y'see? it is deserted.  One of the last beaches...unpopulated by the  crowd, my sanctuary of sun, ocean...peace.

the planes...
I kidd you not about the low-flying planes...the only sound aside the crashing waves.
bye-bye, beach
...till next time!

Everyone deserves a little time to themselves...  A little break only allows you to go further.
It was a nice relaxing day...no work thoughts, no stress...

TOMORROW? I shall fight on. = )

HOT OFF THE PRESS!!

Like, literally...  Just finished and pressed

FIRST DIBS, anyone? they come in SM/MED and MED/LG and are 28" long, so pretty long-bodied.  They are floral prints and swirly and damask burn-outs on cotton-poly blend fabrics with awesome eye popper binding, chosen by YOURS TRULY.

Let's take a closer look.  Strangely, these look like sibling shots...

left to right: Amber - fushia on navy with grey binding, Liberty - dk grey swirly burn-out with cool blue binding, Sandy - grey damask burnout with yellow binding,  Rosalie - dk grey swirly burn-out with coral binding, Maggie - Purple and pink floral print on cool blue, Faith - dk grey swirly burn-out with green binding.

Yes, yes...Liberty, Rosalie and Faith are actually triplets...arn't they cute tho?

These are summer '10 MUST-HAVES, they go with anything and EVERYthing.

sabo...at work

sabo's "turtle speed" sewing...

1 simple style, 2 pattern pieces, 2 sizes, 27 cuts, 4 color ways, 5 days later... I am embarrassed to say that I'm STILL at it.

Cutting, no biggie
Overlocking, eh...getting the hang of it
Coverstiching? kills me
Tacking ends and labels...woo hoo! almost done.

Basically, I just wanted post a word to professional sewers...they are magnificent beings with super human sewing abilities.  Without them, fashion would not exist...

Lucky for me...this is the last style for sabo SUMMER '10.  *unLESS, my brain sprouts new designs (which is always) and my fingers itch to make 'em.  = P

sabo SUMMER '10 editing...

work overload...
gettin' ready for upcoming events...
constant sketches, patterns, samples, cutting-sewing, cutting-sewing...

had time to do a quickie photoshoot last wkend.  Imagine endless fields of overgrown daffodils, blue blue sky, warm sun rays and slight breeze...on the way to the beach.   yeah...that's what I wished for, but had to settle for side of a small hwy, more like in the bushes = )

the dressing room...

Thanks to B tho, for taking more than exceptional pictures with my umm, not so professional canon.  AND, I apologize for the umm...under par model.  Bear with me on that...I swear there's only been editing on the part of the model, no compromises done to the clothing.  Here's one picture, more to follow...

photographer: B
model/stylist: sabo
SB1048 tumble (sunburst dress), SB1053 whirl (lace scarf)
accessories (flea vintage)

Oops! my bad...

So, I decided to not do the SCC (Sassy City Chicks) show in LA (4/22) because it's too rushed.  Only the BEST, right? But I'll be out there to support and catch up on the latest and greatest.  = )

Look for sabo at the Symbiotic SIDEWALK sale (5/1) tho, details to be provided later.

over and OUT!
